About Us

Eratz Investments, Inc. was created in Dallas, Texas, on July 27, 1989, to acquire, initiate, manage, supervise, and operate oil and gas ventures, and to engage in oil and gas exploration and development.

Ruthson Energy, Inc. was created on September 24, 1997, to provide administrative support to all drilling ventures and programs sponsored by Eratz Investments. Ruthson Energy receives and disburses all revenue from wells operated by Eratz Investments, providing monthly accounting to the investors who own working interests in the well, as well as providing other services required to effectively manage and account for revenues and costs associated with the oil and gas wells owned and operated by Eratz Investments.

Samuel H. Roden is the founder and owner of Eratz Investments and Ruthson Energy. He also serves the company as President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Mr. Roden has been engaged in oil and gas exploration and development for over 20 years. He has managed the drilling operation and development of over 200 oil and gas wells and gas gathering systems in Texas and Oklahoma for Eratz Investments since its creation in 1989.

Eratz Investments's Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Gary Hoskins, formed his own company, Gary R. Hoskins, P.C., in 1980. For the past 30 years, Mr. Hoskins has been engaged in private practice, chiefly for clients, executives, and professionals involved in the industry of oil and gas exploration.

Prior to forming his own company and working for Eratz Investments, Mr. Hoskins has been employed as a tax accountant for Hunt Oil Company in Dallas, as the Controller and Assistant Secretary for Serban, Inc. in Dallas, and as Treasurer for Martin Gas Sales, Inc. in Kilgore, Texas.

Mr. Hoskins specializes in serving as a consultant for private energy companies for all things pertaining to oil and gas exploration, properties, production management, business formation, business expansion, investor relations and private placements of oil and gas projects.

Independent Consulting Geologist, Clifton Kees, brings over 40 years of combined experience in oil and gas exploration, project engineering and mechanical engineering to Eratz Investments. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He is a 1960 graduate of the University of Oklahoma and holds a B.S. degree in geological engineering. Mr. Kees is also a 1966 graduate of Louisiana State University where he holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering. At LSU, he earned a Tau Beta Pi honorary Engineering Award. He also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in the Civil Engineering Corp.

Prior to forming his own consulting and exploration company, Kees Exploration Company, in 1988, Mr. Kees held the position of Chief Geologist and/or Project Engineer for many companies, among them Shell Oil Company in the Marine Delta Division of Louisiana for offshore and on shore wells, Ethyl Corporation, Crystal Oil Company, Bass Exploration and Production, Eurotex Oil and Gas and Bridwell Oil Company. He has at various times managed exploration and drilling operations in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Colorado.
